R407C refrigerant for light air conditioning systems
Refrigerant R407C has a good energy efficiency ratio as well as a low compression pressure and GWP. As an ozone-friendly refrigerant, it has been used as a replacement for R22 in the past.
R407C refrigerant
In case of replacement the R22 must always be switched to POE (polyolester) oil. In all retrofitting contexts, the correct refrigerant must be selected with careful consideration of the situation and conditions as a whole. Due to its relatively high GWP value, R407C will be replaced with refrigerants with a lower GWP value.
The use of R407C refrigerant is restricted by (EU) No 517/2014 F-gas regulation
January 1, 2020
The use of HFCs with GWP of 150 or more is banned in movable room air-conditioning equipment (hermetically sealed equipment which is movable between rooms by the end user).
January 1, 2025
The use of HFCs with GWP of 750 or more will be banned in single split air-conditioning systems containing less than 3 kg of fluorinated greenhouse gases.
